5 Advantages of the Themes Humanoid Robotics ETF (BOTT)

October 19, 2026  |  Research

Humanoid robotics is fast becoming one of the most compelling investment themes in the technology space. With applications across a vast range of industries – from manufacturing to healthcare – humanoids could represent a multi-trillion-dollar market opportunity.

Via the Themes Humanoid Robotics ETF, investors can access this theme through a single ticker, gaining exposure to the hardware and software companies that are powering the humanoid robotics revolution. Here are five key advantages of this ETF.

Targeted Exposure to an Industry with Enormous Potential

While the humanoid robotics industry is still nascent today, it’s expected to see prolific growth in the decades ahead. According to analysts at Citi Global Insights, it could be worth up to $7 trillion by 2050 given the technology’s potential in home services and industrial settings1.

Analysts at RBC Capital Markets believe that the market could be even bigger. They have outlined a "blue-sky" scenario in which the total addressable market (TAM) is approximately $9 trillion by 20502, however, they see the potential for an additional $3 trillion in software spending as owners pay for capabilities ranging from caregiving to meal preparation.

Pure-Play Exposure to the Humanoid Robotics Revolution

There are many robotics ETFs on the market today. Where BOTT differentiates itself is that it specifically targets companies positioned along the humanoid and next-generation robotics value chain.

It seeks to track the Solactive Global Humanoid Robotics Index (SOLGHRBN). This index identifies companies that generate at least 50% of their revenues from:

  • Humanoid & service robotics

  • Industrial & autonomous robotics

  • Assistive & wearable robotics

  • AI & cognitive robotics

  • Robot mobility, actuation & mechatronics

Diversified Exposure Across the Supply Chain

When it comes to humanoid robot stocks, names like Tesla, XPeng, and Unitree Robotics tend to capture investor attention. These companies have humanoids in or near production today.

The humanoid robotics ecosystem goes far beyond these manufacturers, however. It consists of businesses operating in areas such as semiconductors and processors, software and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, actuators and motors, sensors and cameras, power systems, and materials.

With the Themes Humanoid Robotics ETF, investors can gain broad access to this ecosystem. Instead of betting on a single hardware manufacturer, BOTT provides exposure to around 30 companies across the supply chain.

It’s worth pointing out that analysts at Goldman Sachs have said that the best investment opportunities within the humanoid robotics theme for now could lie in component makers that form the supply chain3. In the near term, these companies may be better placed for success than the manufacturers (integrators) given the costs associated with developing and manufacturing humanoids at scale.

Exposure to International Humanoid Robotic Stocks

Another key advantage of BOTT is that it provides exposure to a broad range of stocks listed internationally. With this ETF, investors can gain access to humanoid robotics stocks listed in China, South Korea, and Japan.

Note that according to RBC Capital Markets, China is positioned to capture roughly 60% of the humanoid robotics market as a result of strong government support, manufacturing infrastructure, and rapid technology adoption rates2. So, having some exposure to China-listed humanoid robotics stocks could be crucial for those looking to capitalize on the growth of the industry.

A Low Expense Ratio

Finally, it’s worth highlighting BOTT’s expense ratio. At 0.35%, it is over 45% lower than the category average4.

Ultimately, this is a very cost-effective product. With this ETF, investors can gain exposure to the humanoid robotics theme at a fraction of the cost of traditional thematic funds.

Diversification does not eliminate risk.
