Humanoid Robotics Stock UBTECH is in the BOTT ETF
July 27, 2026 | Research Insights
Chinese humanoid robot developer UBTECH – which ranked first globally in revenue and sales volume from full-sized embodied intelligent humanoid robots in 20251 – has been in the spotlight recently. That’s because the company has just launched the UWORLD U1 – a hyper-realistic humanoid designed for companionship and service applications.
Here, we’ll take a look at the UWORLD U1 and how it differs from other humanoid robots on the market. We’ll also look at how investors can gain exposure to UBTECH stock via the US market.
UBTECH’s UWORLD U1 Humanoid Robot
On June 30, UBTECH unveiled the UWORLD U1 Series at its 2026 Global Launch Event in Shenzhen1. A full-size, ultra-bionic humanoid, this model integrates a fully proprietary end-to-end technology stack, including biomimetic skin, embodied intelligence hardware, operating systems, emotion-driven large language models (LLMs), and system-level manufacturing.
Featuring 88 degrees of freedom and a proprietary dual-pivot biomimetic cervical spine, the UWORLD U1 is able to replicate up to 90% of fundamental human movements1. It is powered by an emotion-aware LLM designed for long-term companionship that is capable of recognizing more than 20 fine-grained emotional states with an accuracy rate exceeding 90%1.
Unlike many other humanoid prototypes, the UWORLD U1 is not designed to work in factories. Instead, it’s designed for consumer and commercial applications including daily companionship, emotional support, elderly care, psychological support, social assistance, reception and hospitality services, tourism and exhibitions, research and education, and premium domestic service applications.
As of June 30, cumulative orders for the UWORLD U1 Series had surpassed 13,361 units1. Deliveries are expected to commence in September 20262.
Significant Potential
UBTECH believes the potential is significant. According to the company, China has more than 90 million adults living alone and 118 million empty-nest seniors, with an estimated 10% to 20% of individuals living alone meeting the clinical criteria for mental health disorders1.
Michael Tam, Chief Brand Officer of UBTECH, President of Consumer Robotics Innovation Business Group, and General Manager of UWORLD, believes that companion robots have the potential to become an important new consumer category by providing personalized emotional support throughout different stages of life. He highlighted projections that China's ultra-bionic humanoid robotics market could grow from the tens of billions of RMB to the trillion-RMB level between 2026 and 20361.
How to Invest in UBTECH Stock
UBTECH has a primary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, where it trades under ticker 9880. It also trades on the OTC markets in the US under ticker UBTRF.
Another way to gain exposure to the stock, however, is through humanoid robotics-focused ETFs. The advantage of investing via thematic ETFs is that they can reduce stock specific risk.
